Photo Hiking

Last week I climbed Mount LeConte and took some pictures along the way. They don’t do the scenery justice, but I’ve posted a few of them here.
I’m not the biggest of hikers. So for me an 11 mile trip on a moderately-difficult trail is a pretty big deal–especially when I’m lugging my 50 pound tripod. But wow, the view from the top was worth it. I’m already thinking about going again sometime.

  1. Great pics. I usually stop at the bluffs on a day hike..going all the way to the top and back down the same day sounds exhausting if you’re not a regular hiker. Above the bluffs there used to be some pretty narrow ledges to walk while holding on to cables. I would almost prefer one of the longer routes instead of doing the high wire act. Thanks for sharing..gotta get up there soon.

  2. Thanks, Fletch. If I work at it for a few years perhaps I’ll have some pictures as good as yours. 8^)
I’ll trade you a day shooting in the Smokies for one of your Rocky Mountain ones. How’s that?
