This is disturbing:
FBI Agents arrested 20 year old Ivan Duane Braden of Knoxville Thursday after they say he planned to blow up the National Guard Armory in Lenoir City, and kill a Sergeant Major. He planned to do this Friday.
Agents say he also threatened to blow up a synagogue, wanting to get close to a rabbi and children.
A search of his house and car turned up pipe bombs, knives, Neo-Nazi literature and plans for a suicide vest to put bombs in.
How did I find this story? By watching a live Ashcroft press conference? Nope. I read it at SayUncle. But had Mr. Braden come from Iraq and had a picture of Osama bin Laden at his place, this story would undoubtedly be all over MSNBCNNFOX.
Is the threat that Mr. Braden posed any less dangerous because he is white?
Um… no…
That’s why the FBI arrested him… duh.
There’s also nothing in the story to indicate that he was anything but a lone nut. Lone nuts are scary, but large international terror organizations are much more scary, owing to the fact that they have lots of cash, many members, recruiting programs to garner more members, and are being harbored by rogue governments.

But there was no evidence that Jose Padilla (the “dirty bomber”) was part of a larger plot when he was arrested. Heck, he didn’t even have a bomb. But that didn’t stop Ashcroft from having a press conference (from Russia!) upon his arrest.
Do you honestly believe that “domestic terrorists” and “foreign terrorists” are subject to the same level of publicity?
Brian, I couldn’t disagree more, everyone knows that a white guy can NEVER be guilty of terrorism, whereas almost all darkskinned people are inherently guilty of terrorism. Just think about the Oklahoma City bombing, that group of white perps were not terrorists, they were just protesting unlawful government intervention in Ruby Ridge and Waco — it was just unfortunate that white people had to die in the protest.

I apologize for that last post, I’m being way too cynical and too much like that bunghole Asscroft.
What this article fails to mention is that Ivan Braden is a mental patient seeking mental help. Ivan is a pathelogical liar. I talked to him two days prior to his arrest via phone, he told me everything. The only plans Ivan had was to tell exaggerated stories to get him addmitted to Peninsula for the help that is extremely overdue. I’ve held all of his knives, seen the Neo-Nazi literature, and even shot off the shotgun that’s not mentioned in this article. Ivan has owned all of these things for at least a year, most at least five years. After the first seach the FBI conducted, Ivan had to tell the FBI where to find the shotgun he now getting charged with. Apparently our government isn’t as good as we thought. You shouldn’t believe the lies they feed you.
I believe that Ivan Braden just wanted help before his situation got worse. Now, he has the help…but why haven’t we heard anything else on him?
Ivan doesn’t have anything close to the help he needs. I hardly call giving him his medication “when the guards feel like it” and throwing him into isolation with no counseling, “help”. You haven’t heard anything about him for a while for a couple a reasons . . . 1) his attorney is busy helping the prosecuter put Ivan away for life . . . 2) the judge has seen through Ivan’s attorney’s lies and just recently sent Ivan to an institution to be evaluated . . . 3) the media doesn’t like to show that certain areas of our government are failing.
