Kevin Drum: “One way to cut down on medical malpractice suits is to cut down on medical malpractice.
Funny, we aren’t hearing much about that side of the equation. Perhaps America needs a “Hospital Patients for Truth” group to run some TV ads.

Is there bad medicine out there? Sure. However, if bad medicine was actually required to be involved in malpractice suits, you lawyers wouldn’t have to be whining about it. You would of course be whining that you have to buy a lotto ticket to win the lottery like the rest of us peons rather than having the lotto millions handed to you via “the victims” of “malpractice.”
Coming from one who practices medicine on a daily basis, I have to say that the number one consideration in my practice is protecting my patients. My number two consideration is avoiding lawsuits. Plain and simple.
