Last night on CNBC ‘s “Capital Report,” retired General Norman Schwarzkopf was asked what should be done with General Jerry Boykin. Schwarzkopf said he would remove Boykin from his position “in a heartbeat” for breaking several military rules.
To date no disciplinary action has been taken against Boykin.
“The only thing I would say is there is a very wide gray area on what the rules permit,” said Gen. Richard Myers, chairman of the U.S. military’s Joint Chiefs of Staff…
“At first blush, it doesn’t look like any rules were broken,” Myers added.
I don’t think it was a good idea for Boykin to publicly say those things, either, but which “several military rules” does Gen. Schwartzkoff think he’s broken?
The CNBC interview just touched on that topic and Schwarzkopf didn’t elaborate. The only specific thing he mentioned was the fact that Boykin had been making the inappropriate remarks in military uniform.
Perhaps Schwarzkopf simply believes someone in Boykin’s position shouldn’t be speeaking like that.
