Certainly no laughing matter for those in the storm&#8217;s path.  But I continue to be amused by how the news channels cover the storm.  It&#8217;s a sight watching some reporter standing in a parking lot attempting to shout out his or her insights through the howling rain.  And I love it whenever the concerned anchor in a studio hundreds of miles away warns the brave reporter (and the audience) that he or she should seek shelter if things get too dangerous.  Thank you for that.<br \/>\nSenator Graham&#8217;s new book sheds more light on the interaction between <a href=\"http:\/\/www.miami.com\/mld\/miamiherald\/9584265.htm\">President Bush and Saudi Arabia<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Two of the Sept. 11, 2001, hijackers had a support network in the United States that included agents of the Saudi government, and the Bush administration and FBI blocked a congressional investigation into that relationship, Sen. Bob Graham wrote in a book to be released Tuesday.<br \/>\nThe discovery of the financial backing of the two hijackers &#8221;would draw a direct line between the terrorists and the government of Saudi Arabia, and trigger an attempted coverup by the Bush administration,&#8221; the Florida Democrat wrote.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I don&#8217;t think you have to venture into conspiracy land to reach the conclusion that there&#8217;s a lot going on in the Middle East&#8211;including Iraq&#8211;that isn&#8217;t being covered by the major media&#8217;s narrative.<br \/>\nThe <a href=\"http:\/\/talkleft.com\/new_archives\/007787.html\">Osama watch<\/a> continues.<br \/>\nA couple presidential polls have reported Bush with a double digit percentage point lead.  According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.talkingpointsmemo.com\/archives\/week_2004_09_05.php#003432\">Josh Marshall<\/a>, both campaigns&#8217; internal polls have Bush with a four point lead.<br \/>\nThe <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/russia\/article\/0,2763,1297732,00.html\">terrorist school attack in Belsan, Russia <\/a> is horrendous.  At least with some of al Qaeda&#8217;s attacks you can see some degree of method to their madness by striking targets symbolic of America&#8217;s power.
