That seems pretty fair, right?<br \/>\nThe price of oil briefly fell below $55 during Friday&#8217;s trading session before rallying to close at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nasdaq.com\/aspxcontent\/NewsStory.aspx?cpath=20070105%5cACQRTT200701051533RTTRADERUSEQUITY_0758.htm&#038;\">$56.31<\/a>.  Despite closing higher, the price of oil fell over 8% for the week &#8211; the single largest weekly drop in oil prices since early in 2005.<br \/>\nUnfortunately, the decline of the price of oil didn&#8217;t carry over to the national average price of gasoline, which actually has increased <a href=\"http:\/\/biz.yahoo.com\/ap\/070107\/gas_prices.html?.v=2\">three cents<\/a> during the past three weeks.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Funny how gasoline prices always trail oil price drops much slower than price increases.  Or maybe it isn&#8217;t.<br \/>\nSpeaking of oil, there&#8217;s been some discussion regarding <a href=\"http:\/\/news.independent.co.uk\/world\/middle_east\/article2132569.ece\">this report<\/a> regarding a proposed deal allowing Western oil companies to cash in on Iraqi oil fields.  Jerome a Paris <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theoildrum.com\/node\/2154\">writes<\/a> that this law, if ever implemented, would be a reasonable business arrangement.
