{"id":2538,"date":"2014-07-24T09:00:10","date_gmt":"2014-07-24T13:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.brianarner.com\/weblog\/?p=2538"},"modified":"2014-07-24T04:13:49","modified_gmt":"2014-07-24T08:13:49","slug":"easy-bread-recipe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.brianarner.com\/weblog\/2014\/07\/easy-bread-recipe\/","title":{"rendered":"Easy Bread Recipe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I enjoy bread&#8211;particularly homemade bread.\u00a0 I learned a simple way to make bread and bake most of the bread I eat.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a basic bread&#8211;not something that will put bakeries out of business&#8211;but I like it better than many brands of store-bought bread, and I imagine it&#8217;s more healthful, too.\u00a0 It suits my purposes for making sandwiches, toast, or just eating plain.<\/p>\n<p>I use a bread making machine to mix and knead the dough .\u00a0 [It&#8217;s supposed to be easy, right?]\u00a0 But then I remove it from the machine and bake it in a regular oven.<\/p>\n<p>Happy baking.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ingredients<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 1\/2 tablespoons margarine<\/li>\n<li>2 cups bread flour<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 cups whole wheat flour<\/li>\n<li>2 1\/4 teaspoons yeast<\/li>\n<li>1 cup + 4 tablespoons hot water<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/4 teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Directions<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Cut margarine into small pieces (for quick melting) and place in bread maker pan.<\/li>\n<li>Combine bread flour, wheat flour, and yeast in mixing bowl.\u00a0 Stir well.<\/li>\n<li>Pour water into bread maker pan.\u00a0 Add salt and brown sugar.<\/li>\n<li>Add flour mixture on top of the liquid.<\/li>\n<li>Turn on bread maker and run through the mixing\/kneading cycle (on my machine this lasts 25 minutes).\u00a0 Add flour, as needed, so that the dough loses most of its tackiness.<\/li>\n<li>Remove dough from the bread maker pan and press into oven bread pan.<\/li>\n<li>Warm oven to ~ 120F, place pan on top rack, and let dough fully rise (about 30 minutes).<\/li>\n<li>Heat oven to 350F and bake for another 30-35 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Remove bread from oven.\u00a0 [Caution: hot]\u00a0 Allow it to cool.<\/li>\n<li>Enjoy.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/imagizer.imageshack.us\/v2\/640x480q90\/841\/vsyo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<a href=\"http:\/\/www.brianarner.com\/weblog\/2014\/07\/easy-bread-recipe\/\" rel=\"bookmark\" title=\"Permalink to Easy Bread Recipe\"><p>I enjoy bread&#8211;particularly homemade bread.\u00a0 I learned a simple way to make bread and bake most of the bread I eat.
