One site it highlights is <a href=\"http:\/\/vivisimo.com\/\">Vivisimo<\/a>.<br \/>\nThere&#8217;s no easier way to assess a search engine than to try it out, so I gave both the ultimate test: the Resonance search.<br \/>\nTurns out Google is better in raw search power:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?hl=en&#038;ie=UTF-8&#038;oe=UTF-8&#038;q=Resonance&#038;btnG=Google+Search\">Google<\/a>: No. 9.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/vivisimo.com\/search?num=150&#038;query=Resonance&#038;v%3Asources=MSN%2CNetscape%2CLycos%2CLooksmart%2COverture&#038;x=46&#038;y=20\">Vivisimo<\/a>:  No. 11.  (average rank of three searches).<br \/>\nWhat sets Vivisimo apart from many other search engines is that it also groups results into subject clusters, which may help one wade through a bunch of irrelevant hits.  But it&#8217;s not always helpful.  For instance, in my test search I wasn&#8217;t sure which category my desired hit was listed in.
