Vanosdale carried a hand-written sign proclaiming &#8220;Bush, we love you cause you love Jesus and Israel.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>[Note to self: contact the DNC and urge them to drop the anti-Jesus plank from the party platform.]<br \/>\nThere&#8217;s a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.msn.com\/Default.aspx?id=3908334&#038;p1=0\">few comments<\/a> in Howard Dean&#8217;s closet which might not play so well in Iowa:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;If you look at the caucuses system, they are dominated by the special interests in both parties,&#8221; he [Dean] said. &#8220;[And] the special interests don&#8217;t represent the centrist tendencies of the American people. They represent the extremes. And then you get a president who is beholden to either one extreme or the other, and where the average person is in the middle.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>and (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2004\/01\/09\/politics\/campaigns\/09DEAN.html?ex=1074229200&#038;en=3eef0744f772a4c1&#038;ei=5062&#038;partner=GOOGLE\"><i>NY Times<\/i><\/a>):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;George Bush is, I believe, in his soul a moderate,&#8221; and adding about those thinking that Mr. Bush&#8217;s presidency would be a one-term one, &#8220;that is going to be a mistake.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Elsewhere in Iowa, the latest <a href=\"http:\/\/www.surveyusa.com\/2004_Elections\/IA040108demcaucuses.pdf\">Survey USA poll<\/a> shows Edwards surging 7% to 17% over the last month.<br \/>\nFinally, Wesley Clark has picked up a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.madonna.com\/madonna\/php\/news.php?&#038;articleID=590&#038;content=1\">big endorsement<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I&#8217;ve never done this before. But life is about taking risks is it not?<br \/>\nI know that people seem to pay attention to everything I do. Big or Small. Ridiculous or Sublime. So I am hoping they pay attention to this:<br \/>\nI am supporting General Wesley Clark for President.<br \/>\nNot only as a &#8220;celebrity&#8221; but as an American citizen and as a mother.
