{"id":725,"date":"2004-03-04T20:05:45","date_gmt":"2004-03-05T01:05:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.brianarner.com\/weblog\/wordpress\/2004\/03\/911_ads\/"},"modified":"2004-03-04T20:05:45","modified_gmt":"2004-03-05T01:05:45","slug":"911_ads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.brianarner.com\/weblog\/2004\/03\/911_ads\/","title":{"rendered":"9\/11 Ads"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There&#8217;s been quite a brouhaha today on how the Bush campaign has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailykos.com\/story\/2004\/3\/4\/17139\/95532\">&#8220;politicized&#8221; 9\/11 in its new ad campaign<\/a>.<br \/>\nI don&#8217;t think that showing an image or two of the momentous event is, in and of itself, &#8220;heinous.&#8221;  [Though it is notable that Bush will show 9\/11 body bags in his commericals, yet refuses to allow the media to show body bags coming back from Iraq.]  The attacks have shaped the presidency for the past 2 1\/2 years and commercials can reflect that.<br \/>\nThe real outrage, which the media should be hammering, is Bush&#8217;s continued stonewalling of the 9\/11 commission.  Here we have a candidate trying to portray himself as a &#8220;steady&#8221; leader who is attempting to weasel out of any accountability whatsoever for his actions.
