Mr. President, who will you be handing the Iraqi government over to on June 30?<br \/>\nA. We&#8217;ll find that out soon. That&#8217;s what <a href=\"http:\/\/www.un.org\/News\/dh\/iraq\/brahimi-bio-jan04.htm\">Mr. Brahimi<\/a> is doing. He&#8217;s figuring out the nature of the entity we&#8217;ll be handing sovereignty over.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Let me get this straight.  After expending hundreds of American lives and over $100 billion on this effort in Iraq, we are now relying on someone from the irrelevant U.N. to come up with the plan to fix up the mess?<br \/>\nI just don&#8217;t understand it.<br \/>\nUPDATE: In a press conference today, Brahimi expressed confidence that an interim Iraqi government <a href=\"http:\/\/www.un.org\/apps\/news\/story.asp?NewsID=10390&#038;Cr=iraq&#038;Cr1=\">could be in place by the scheduled transfer of power on June 30<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<a href=\"http:\/\/www.brianarner.com\/weblog\/2004\/04\/becoming_relevant\/\" rel=\"bookmark\" title=\"Permalink to Becoming Relevant\"><p>Another interesting moment from last night&#8217;s press conference.
