Senator Frist is a lost cause, but it sounds like Senator Alexander is leaning against the amendment. Remind him that the Constitution is supposed to protect rights, not take them away.
I usually let me opinions be known to all of my representatives no matter what. It probably won’t change their minds over the current piece of legislation, but it might make an impression on their thinking for future actions. Plus mine (Pelosi, Boxer and Feinstein) usually agree with me.
I think the only major issue my representative (Duncan) has agreed with me on recently is that we shouldn’t have invaded Iraq. It was a rare and somewhat disconcerting moment.
