Just heard CNN’s gray bearded one repeat another GOP talking point in asking if the protestors marching yesterday were there because they were upset at President Bush or because they liked John Kerry. The implied meaning of this being that people really don’t like Kerry, they just lean that way because they are emotionally-driven Bush haters.
Really, how often in 2000 do you recall the media asking whether those supporting George W. Bush did so because they liked Bush rather than because they disliked Gore?
Well.. polls show there is a large segment of voters who are voting for Kerry simply because they don’t like Bush. I’ve never seen polls in the past show that kind of result.
Are you denying there is a large segment of liberals who aren’t excited about Kerry or don’t like Kerry but hate Bush more?
Greetings,
Once again I have to completely agree with CJ… Except that I remember many voters in 2000 voting for W. because they hated Bill Clinton. You remember him don’t you? He was the president so obsessed with his male member that to hide the fact it got sucked by a woman other than his wife, he sent the US military off to Iraq, where nearly 1,000 soldiers died… WAIT! I think I’m getting mixed up here some. NO Americans died as a result of Clinton trying to ward off revealing his indescretion. It was Bush who sent off 1,000 soldiers to die for nothing more than for his personal vendetta.
So, see, I do agree with CJ. I think most Americans hate him for killing their sons and daughters for no reason.
Oh, but in response to CJ’s comment, Yes I think that more than 50% of Americans would rather vote for a dead horse than Bush. (Get it? A horse has a long face….) Sorry for my poor excuse of a Kerry joke.
Show me a poll showing Bush voters were simply “anti-Clinton”. Anyone? Especially considering CLINTON WASN’T EVEN ON THE TICKET!
Once again you are quite correct. The closest thing we have to a poll is the 2000 election where Clinton minion, Gore went up against the juggernaut, Bush. And we all know how that turned out, the majority of the U.S. population voted for Gore than Bush. And since more people voted for Gore, I have once again been proved wrong about Clinton-hating. America loved Clinton!
