Churchill Flap

I was channel surfing the newsies last night, and without looking for it, I noted that at least three shows (two on CNN) headlined with the Professer Ward Churchill controversy. This might have been a pretty newsworthy story . . . three years ago when he wrote the essay.
So why was it dominating the air waves last night? Because the right wing noise factory has pushed it to the forefront of the media, with the so-called “liberal” media dutifully marching in step.
Just another example of how conservatives, not liberals, establish the media’s agenda.
UPDATE: By the way, while other program hosts were ranting about whether or not a Colorado professor committed treason three years ago, Keith Olbermann had a pretty good piece on the infestation of the White House press corps by a bogus journalist.
If you aren’t watching The Keith, you should be.

  1. Oooooh… bogus journalist in the press corp. That’s hard hitting!
I can’t stand watching Keith Olbermann. Maybe he could re-grow his porno mustache and throw on his leather jacket and return to the early days of ESPN2!
This guy gives journalists a bad name.

  2. Well, it’s not just a bogus journo in the press corps. It’s a bogus journo who writes under an assumed name, who receives White House press credentials in that assumed name (contrary to U.S. Secret Service practice, incidentally; for that to happen the President or someone with presidential access would have had to order the Secret Service to allow it), who copies GOP talking points as his “stories”, and who seems to be attending press conferences solely to lob softballs for Bush or McClellan to hit…
Oh, and did I mention that said bogus journo has connections to gay male escort Web sites? Republican Family Values at work, I’d say….
    🙂

  3. Yeah, attack the guy’s mustache. You win that argument. Hard to argue that sort of reason.
