The bAdministration seems to have found a strange usage of the phrase “last throes” that I hadn’t previously been aware of.

Five wonderful years ago I retired after working 33 years for a government contractor. We in lower management were encouraged by upper management to always refer to a problem as an “opportunity to excel”. We have many such opportunities in Iraq. “Last throes” is probably on that list of euphemisms somewhere.
